Content Moderation Policy

Effective: January 01, 2026 Last Reviewed: October 23, 2026 Official App: ZoraGram (Android)

1. Moderation Framework

ZoraGram operates a balanced content moderation architecture designed to protect community members from harm while preserving authentic creative expression. As an intermediary platform hosting diverse user-generated posts and short reels, we adhere to recognized statutory standards including the Indian IT Rules 2021 and Google Play Developer content policies.

2. Detection: Automated & Community Reports

Content moderation on ZoraGram relies on two complementary detection layers:

  • Automated Pre-Filters: Algorithmic checks that screen for known malicious URLs, viral spam patterns, automated bot flooding, and standard hash matches of illegal imagery.
  • Community Reporting: Flags submitted by active users in-app (via post menus, reel actions, and chat options) feed directly into prioritized review queues.
  • Statutory Priority Queue: Reports involving non-consensual sexual imagery or minor safety bypass standard queues and are assigned immediate high-priority review within 24 hours.

3. Human Moderation Process

Flagged content that requires subjective evaluation (contextual humor, fair use, heated political discourse vs. hate speech) is reviewed by trained human moderators. Reviewers evaluate content against our written Community Guidelines without bias toward political, religious, or personal beliefs.

4. Progressive Strike System

To ensure fairness, ZoraGram applies a tiered enforcement structure for standard guideline infractions:

  1. Strike 1 (Warning & Removal): The offending content is removed. The creator receives an in-app notice explaining the policy violation.
  2. Strike 2 (Temporary Restriction): If a second violation occurs within 90 days, the account is restricted from posting or commenting for 3 to 7 days.
  3. Strike 3 (Account Suspension): A third infraction results in temporary or permanent account deactivation.

Immediate Permanent Suspension: Severe violations—including child exploitation, violent extremist threats, and severe identity theft—result in immediate permanent ban without application of progressive strikes.

We recognize that automated systems and human moderators can occasionally make errors. If your content was removed or your account was restricted and you believe the decision was mistaken, you have the right to request a formal re-review via our Appeals Portal.
